Getting ready for another art market. Hope to see you there!

AND the kid’s shirts I made for last winter’s market have been resurrected! It’s a long story, but basically I ruined them, and now I have fixed them and they are ready for you!

The Woodblock

For my Printmaking final we carved a woodblock as a group and printed it at Rockin Rollin Prints at Saint Arnold Brewing Co. this past Sunday.

I went with most of my class and my professor and we volunteered all day.  It was really hot and most of us were filling in for all the people who didn’t show up, but it was really fun!  I can’t wait for next year so I can make my own block!

2013 Texas Contemporary Art Fair

This weekend I went to the Texas Contemporary Art Fair.  This time it was very fancy with a VIP lounge (which I had a pass) and a lot of local art.  There were so many great pieces, it was kind of overwhelming.

2013 Houston Fine Art Fair

I know this happened a couple weeks ago, but I forget to post anything about it anywhere…

On Sept 22 I was invited to go to the Houston Fine Art Fair in downtown Houston and of course I said yes!  It was AMAZING!  There was sooo much to look at and I I loved getting to meet some of the artists.  We made it through the whole fair and looked at every single piece.  We could take pictures, but I was still a little afraid to take pictures of art.  You can’t usually take photos in a gallery.  I don’t have all of the artist’s names, but if you go to houstonfineartfair.com you can see everyone who was there.

After that, Kim and I went across the street to Discovery Green and watched an Australian act called Strange Fruit.

This weekend I am going to the Texas Contemporary Art Fair and I will be sure to post pictures sooner this time.
