I have decided I want to do a drawing challenge. I was going to do a drawing a day for the month of November just because October had already started, but I hadn’t put it together that November is also the month of NaNoWriMo. I participated in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) a couple times, but got tired of it. So while searching the internet to see if there was already some yearly drawing challenge, I found NaNoDrawMo. I’m not sure what the “No” stands for…
There isn’t that much information about it besides this Flickr account. Basically it says that for the month of November, from Nov. 1st to Nov. 30th, you have to draw 50 drawings. They can be of whatever you want. Some people went with a theme like everyday objects, or people, or a specific object. I haven’t decided if I want to have a theme or not. I think having a theme would make it a lot easier to figure out what I should draw.
NaNoDrawMo is all great and fine, but you don’t have to do it in November. I was originally going to do my own challenge, setting my own goal. You can do it during whatever month and as many times a year as you want; it is only for your personal achievement. Heck, you can do it every month with a different theme each month if you want to. It’s all about getting you inspired and if you don’t make it to your goal because it struck up another, bigger idea, than it has served its purpose.
I can’t wait to start! I am always looking for new, fun challenges. Let me know which ones you have done or have heard of!
Up next: Picking a theme.

Sorry, I don’t have any images for this post, so please enjoy this old drawing from 2009 I did of my sister while she was sleeping…
